RACE

On route to the University of Alberta’s South Campus, teams were detoured via downtown along Capital Boulevard (108 Street NW between 99 Avenue NW and 104 Avenue NW) unaware that the art installments that line this street would be vital in a task later during the race.

Upon arrival at the Saville Community Sports Centre, teams discovered they would be versing each other in a modified end of curling for the race’s first Head-To-Head challenge. The Amazing Race Edmonton was honoured to have Danielle Schmiemann, a national curling champion and University of Alberta alumni, as our special guest who mentored teams and helped them slide down the pebbled ice into victory. Practice definitely makes perfect when it comes to this sport if you ask Kyle and Jenna of Team Are We There Yet!
